FCKH8’S response to me, in which they tell me that they did nothing wrong, talk down to me, accuse me of sending them a “nasty message”, and have the audacity to tell me to GOOGLE THE TERM “FAIR USE”.
when you post something on Tumblr do you have an expectation that no one will pass it around and share it? And BTW, in no way did we make it seem like we created the post as your name is clearly shown and we simply wrote on the top of the post as there is no way to share a Tumblr post on Facebook unless it is an image. Anybody can take a screen shot of something and comment on it and it’s called fair use. google it. what damage was done to inspire such a nasty message? no big deal. we deleted it. isn’t it upsetting when something you actually write other people like and share? maybe they should make a website for that and call it Tumblr?
furthermore, this is their response to my friend rei after she commented on their inappropriate use of my material:
do not support this campaign. the people behind it are rude, immature and unwilling to admit to their own mistakes and instead lash out in spite. find another LGBTQ campaign to support, PLEASE.
Jesus, what. >< Is there nothing in this world that’s actually… I don’t know, good?
"The world isn’t fair. Deal with it." - People who benefit from how unfair the world is.
"The world shouldn’t cater to your feelings and needs."- People whose feelings and needs the world caters to.
"This has nothing to do with race/gender/orientation/ability."- People who don’t want to address how their ideology has everything to do with race/gender/orientation/ability.
"Look, it’s never going to change, you need to accept that." - People who don’t see themselves as benefiting from change and don’t want to put in the perceived effort as a consequence.
Ignore people who find your vision and initiative frightening.
Let’s do this thing.
San Francisco Police shoot & kill 19 yr old
Warning: the video is graphic.
Yesterday, at 4:45 p.m., SFPD shot a teenager who fled during a fair inspection on a Muni light rail car. The cops claimed that he was armed and had fired shots at them first. After the suspect was shot in the back, no gun was found. Doesn’t this sound awfully familiar?
Seriously though, you shot a 19 yr old over a $2 fair? And he later died in the hospital, all because he didn’t pay a $2 fair & you assumed he had a gun. Back up arrived before an ambulance did. No back up was needed. There were already other cops on the scene, some even carrying assault rifles. The man was on the ground fighting for his life. That moment in the video where he struggles to even attempt to get up is some of the most chilling video I’ve seen. Ever.
It’s okay though right? America will probably ignore this & move on to some more mindless crap, as is usually the case. I’ve seen it before with the Oscar grant case, Sean bell, James Brissette, and countless others. When will this country’s collective conscious wake up?
i’m tired of shit like this happening
smfh what the fuck ever happened to shoot to injure not shoot to kill !
I’m so sickened by this. We’re losing our black man for what? For the color of their skin? Such bullshit. And he was only fucking 19 and had his whole life ahead of him. I hope you rest in peace dear
#SolidarityIsForTheAbleBodied aimed to spark a conversation among people with disabilities who “have to fight, and hard, to adapt … to fit into the world,” Carter, a political consultant who lives in Maryland, said.
More so, it was meant to uncover the ableism experienced daily by the one in five people in the United States who has a disability. Just take a quick scan of the hashtag on Twitter, and you’ll read tweet after tweet of inequitable treatment. Denied government benefits because you’re not “disabled enough”? Check. Confronted by a “take the stairs” campaign when you use a wheelchair? Check. Avoided visiting the doctor’s because it’s inaccessible? Check. Told your depression is nothing but temporary sadness and that you should “just smile”?Check.
While #SolidarityIsForTheAbleBodied shined a light on incidents of able-bodied privilege from across the globe, showing how ableism is a systemic issue in all political and societal respects, it also revealed something that has long been known by some, but that has been unrecognized by others: that feminism has an ableism problem.
Please read. This is so important. And it’s sad this has gotten like, no mainstream attention.
“All of the experiences in this comic are either directly from my own life or related to me by people I know and care for.
I don’t know, I’m all mad today. In the elevator in my building a woman decided she had an opinion about something I was wearing around my neck and grabbed it so she could tell me what she thought, and got mad when I told her to fuck off. I’m on the subway and a stranger wants to touch my hair. Every time I fuck someone or love someone, 0r change my body or decide whether or not to wear make-up or talk about the people I love, I prepare for the cascade of opinions or tirades or thinly-veiled self-congratulatory tolerance and it’s easier now to just not share, to hold those precious things private.
I’m tired of my body and my life being public property, of my identity and choices being used by others for leverage, at that entitled hurt or anger in their eyes when I don’t want to play along. I’m tired of seeing the people around me get manoeuvred or manhandled or held up like fucking pariahs when they just want to be left in peace. I’m bored of being someone else’s politics. I don’t want to talk – I’m just reading my book while I’m on my way home”

hey looks it’s all the reasons that “10 Reasons to be Grateful” post is bullshit! <3
I would also like to point out, in case it’s not clear enough for you here, that IT’S REALLY FUCKING RUDE TO INTERROGATE OR TOUCH DISABLED PERSONS WITHOUT THEM GIVING YOU EXPLICIT PERMISSION TO DO SO. This includes wheelchairs. Do not push someone’s wheelchair without permission, because that’s literally like me picking you up by your ankles and dragging you somewhere.
